I’m William Henry Gough, a Software Engineer and Gopher based in Manchester, UK.

I’ve been writing Go for almost 2 years and I’m currently a Go developer for bet365, one of the world’s largest online betting services. My work there involves writing performant, scalable, and maintainable microservices in Golang, as well as migrating legacy applications to Go.

Before I joined bet365, I worked as a Software Engineer for the world famous LADbible Group. Whilst there I maintained several legacy Laravel APIs, as well as working on production applications with Node, TypeScript, and React.

My first employment after graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with First Class Honours in Computer Science was working for Ampersand Commerce, a market leading e-commerce agency. At Ampersand I built custom software solutions for enterprise retailers such as Harvey Nichols, Regatta Group, The Book People, Harveys, Bensons for Beds and more.
